How a mandate runs
The steps are public and dated. The judgment applied inside them stays with the mandate. Every phase ends with something you can read, check and keep.
Revised October 202601Mandate · days 1 to 14
Acquisition criteria, written and ranked
Your sector and geography lane, reserved for one fund at a time
Exclusions agreed in writing, starting with companies or investors you already know
The reasons this lane could produce no meetings, written before any approach
Approach messaging, agreed with you
02Groundwork · days 15 to 45
Sending domains warmed in your name for about 30 days, so your own deliverability is never at risk
A universe built from filings and registries, not from a database
Each company or fund screened against your thesis or your round
Dated signals tracked for each target
03Approach · from day 45
Direct approaches in your name, only where the rules allow it
Replies handled until a meeting is set
Meetings booked in your calendar
For a round under Rule 506(b) or for a fund raise, no approach at all: the map and the materials only
04What counts as a qualified meeting
The company or fund fits the thesis you validated
An owner, shareholder or decision maker is in the room
The meeting actually takes place
The counterparty was not already known to you
You confirm within 7 days. A meeting that misses any of the four is not billed.
05The brief
Before every qualified meeting, a note on a single page: who the counterparty is, the figures we could verify, the fit with your thesis, and why now, as a dated fact rather than a guess.
06What you see each month
Counterparties in the universe, screened, approached, replied and met
Meetings qualified, and the ones that were not, with the reason
The tiers that produced nothing, and what we changed
If a lane produces nothing, we tell you by the end of the second month
07How we are paid
A setup fee, a monthly retainer, then a fixed fee each time a dated event happens, agreed before we start. Never a percentage of any transaction or of any capital raised.
Read a fee as an incentive. A fee on closing pays an intermediary to want any deal. Ours are paid on steps you can check.
